In 1988, he obtained his MSc degree from the Department of Chemistry, Sichuan University.
From 1988 to 1998, he worked in the Department of Materials Science and Technology, Southwest University of Science and Technology, and served as teaching assistant, lecturer, and associate professor.
From 1998 to 2006, he worked in Sichuan Changhong Electric Co., Ltd., and served as senior engineer, technical director of battery project, and head of institute of battery technology. He was promoted to Professorate Senior Engineer in 2002.
From 2006 to 2007, he worked at Jiangnan University/Institute of Chemical Power Sources, as a senior researcher and professor.
Since 2007, he has been a professor at Soochow University/Institute of Chemical Power Sources.
He was elected as one of the 333 program in Jiangsu Province in 2007, expert committee member of the National Technical Committee 176 on Primary Battery of Standardization Administration of China (TC176, IEC/TC35), scientific and technological consultant of Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu and other province governments, Battery Magazine reviewer.
Main Academic and Technologic Achievements
As the technical director, he completed the project of the first four high-energy mercury-free alkaline manganese battery production lines construction in Sichuan Changhong Electric Co., Ltd., which have an annual output of 300 million batteries. It was the first project to achieve the mass production of mercury-free alkaline manganese battery in China.
As one of the technical representatives of Chinese alkaline manganese battery industry, he responded to the USITC 337 Investigation against China’s battery industry and achieved a full victory. It was China’s first successful case in responding to the USITC 337 Investigation.
He published more than 40 academic technical papers in domestic and foreign academic technical journals and conferences, 2 academic technical monographs, and obtained 14 national invention patents.

He obtained two Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, one Provincial Youth Science and Technology Achievement Award, two Municipal Science and Technology Progress Awards and 2 Ministerial QC Achievement Awards.
He completed 3 projects of Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R. China for institutes as head of project or main member, and 2 projects from companies.
